Mosquito Creek is another fantastic hostel run by a lively guy called Tony. Drinking water is via bucket from a hand pump and the rest room consists of well, a whole in the ground. Electricity is none existent - Propane gas is used to light, heat and cook.

Peyto lake lies a kilometre or so off Route 93 (near Bow pass) and was well worth a stop on our way to Rampart Creek. As we stood admiring the bright cyan water (so coloured because of glacial clay deposits), a coach load of Japanese tourists descended, took a few thousand pictures and then disappeared without trace!

Further North we stopped at the Saskatchewan river crossing service station. Along the 250 mile stretch of Route 93 from Banff to Jasper, there's a handful of buildings and most of these are Hostels. So when there was chance to stop at a service station, we didn't turn it down. A few more kilometers North up route 93 is Rampart Creek hostel.
