The highlight of day 6 was the long climb up to the Sunwapta pass. The view from the top of the pass is breathtaking.
Soon after reaching the top, our luck with the weather changed as the cold winds closed in and it started raining.
We arrived at Hilda Creek several hours earlier than planned, so decided to take a walk to see the Saskatchewan glacier. This is only a short walk and the view is supurb.
Drinking water at Hilda Creek is obtained from a nearby stream with the aid of a yoke and plenty of elbow grease! (providing a classic photo opportunity). |
