Day 4 was a short ride of 34 miles to Árnes. Another sky blue day along the flat, we arrived at Árnes hostel by lunch. We had burger and chips at the local road side café then set out on a short ride to fill time.

A tip to any one staying at Hostels in Iceland: Bring a sleeping bag with you! Unlike the hostels in the UK and other parts of the world, you can not hire sleeping sheets in Icelandic hostels. This caught me out and I ended up sleeping in my jeans and a jumper on more than one occasion.
