I’ve long wanted to cycle the length of Great Britain and with the recession biting in 2009 an overseas trip was out of the question. I therefore decided it was high time I attempted Lands End to John O'Groats.
Opinion is divided as to whether an east coast or west coast route works best – I say east coast, everyone else says west! So with that in mind I set about plotting a 1000+ mile course, which whilst wasn't the shortest, did take in some awesome countryside and historic cities.
